So far, the North London club have signed Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers. For most Arsenal fans, Arsene Wenger’s activity this year has exceeded their expectations, as the Gunners have signed two highly-regarded players. Here are a list of players who could legitimize Arsenal’s title challenge and send their fans over the moon.

Earlier in the summer, reports indicated that Arsenal could be interested in Balotelli. Super Mario would be a great addition to the Arsenal frontline, as he can provide competition for Olivier Giroud as a world-class striker. The Italian international would be a great signing for the North London club if AC Milan is ready to let him go.

The BVB Dortmund man is a great defender who can star for any side. With what seems to be an imminent departure of Thomas Vermaelen, Arsenal need a strong defender to challenge the current tandem and bolster their defensive line. Hummels is a proven defender and a great passer as well. It is reported that Hummels will cost around $ 50 million.

3. Fabio Coentrao

The Portuguese international has been unable to establish himself as a regular starter for Real Madrid since his arrival in 2011. However, Coentrao has shown he can be an absolute beast in defense as he locked Arjen Robben down in the Champions League. With Carl Jenkinson on loan, Arsenal could use a high-quality defender to add competition for Kieran Gibbs.

2. Angel Di Maria

It is mind-boggling that Angel Di Maria has become somewhat of a surplus at Real Madrid with the influx of midfielders at the Spanish capital. The Argentine international was the UEFA Champions League Man of the Match. Di Maria adds another dimension to the Arsenal midfield and the Real Madrid player would be an absolute coup at any price.

The German international was injured for Real Madrid last season, but showed he is still a great defensive midfielder at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Khedira would be a physical addition in the Gunners midfield. However, a transfer seems unlikely as Arsenal are too cheap to pay the Real Madrid player-wage demands.
