Chelsea finished third in the English Premier League last season. The Stamford Bridge club will be needing to increase their firepower, as they were long way off the mark compared to the top two teams. Both Manchester City and Liverpool scored over 100 goals, as Chelsea scored only 71. The Pensioners have signed a number of world-class players, but here is a list of players who can help them even more.

Chelsea undoubtedly had one of the stingiest defenses in the Premier League last season, but with the departure of Ashley Cole defensive cover is needed on the flanks. Arbeloa is a veteran that can play both sides of a defensive line. The Real Madrid man will be able to deputize for Chelsea new kid Luis Felipe more than adequately.

4. Jackson Martinez

Martinez would give the Stamford Bridge club another attacking threat. Jose Mourinho and company have already added Diego Costa to their ranks, but the unreliability of Fernando Torres and the aging Didier Drogba might not be enough cover. Martinez has had two phenomenal seasons at Porto, amassing 46 goals in 60 appearances, and he will no doubt increase the potency of the Chelsea front-line.

3. Seamus Coleman

The Everton defender was an absolute revelation last season. Coleman was voted in the PFA Team of the Year as the right back chosen over Chelsea’s own Branislav Ivanovic. The Irish international is not only solid at the back, but he can also create chances for his teammates. Coleman should be bought to add depth in defense and to keep Ivanovic on his toes.

2. Luis Gustavo

With the loss of David Luiz, Chelsea lost one of their most versatile players in the defense/defensive midfield position. Luis Gustavo will add depth to the defensive midfield that the Pensioners seem to lack. The Brazilian international is the hard man who will complement the finesse Chelsea already possess.

Higuain is the attacking threat that Chelsea need. The Argentine international has been devastating defenses across Europe for almost the entirety of his career. With inconsistency being one of the major criticisms for the Chelsea attacking third, Higuain will add the venom that the Blues faithful have been craving.
