Apparently, Manchester United are severely close to signing Fiorentina and Colombian midfielder, Juan Cuadrado. Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal has offered a £32 million fee, but Fiorentina has been adamant in asking for nothing less than £36 million. Van Gaal will likely match that transfer request and bring on Cuadrado, who shined during the 2014 World Cup.

Cuadrado would be a perfect fit for Van Gaal’s new 3-5-2 wingback formation. Van Gaal would place Cuadrado at a wingback position due to his versatility on the field. Cuadrado has great work ethic, amazing recovery time and insane quickness. In the coming days, Cuadrado will be signed to Manchester United due to Van Gaal’s high interest.

Along with Cuadrado, Van Gaal has been looking for other players to compliment the new formation. Daley Blind, who has a personal relationship with Van Gaal, could be on Manchester United’s wishlist due to his versatility on the back line. Blind can play defensive midfielder, left-back and-center back. The pickup of Blind would be crucial due to the lack of skill at the center back position.

Another target that may interest United is Mehdi Benatia, the defender from AS Roma. Benatia is physical and combative for a 27-year-old, and it could be exactly what Van Gaal is looking for in a central defender. Now that the targets are set, Manchester United and Van Gaal will get their man.
