Manchester City is filled with a plethora of world class players. Even some of the players who are considered to be world class cannot find themselves a place on the bench on match day, much less the youngsters. One young player who have shown great potential since breaking into the first team is Marcos Lopes.

Lopes, nicknamed Rony, was born the 28 of December 1995. Since making his move to Manchester City from Benfica, he has made a handful of appearances and impressed in almost all of them. Lopes was originally born in Brazil but is a national of Portugal. His style of play is close to that of Manchester City’s own David Silva.

While we can’t completely make the prediction that he will fulfill his potential and become a crucial player for Manchester City in the future, we know for sure that he is showing great signs of becoming an amazing player. Manuel Pellegrini recently stated that Manchester City has big plans for the dimunitive youth and so he decided that to enhance his chances of growing into the full player that they need him to be they would send him out on loan.

Lopes performed so well for Manchester City in the 2012-2013 season that he was voted as their Academy Player of the Year award. From seeing his performances for City in couple of the league games it is certain they have a gem on their hands. Lopes will now be plying his trade in the Ligue 1 in France with Lille LOSC as he hopes to get a great amount of game time to aid him in his development. Hopefully next season they will reap the fruits of having made that decision this year.
