Soccer has seen its fair share of superstar players. With the emergency of these world-class stars, it has become increasingly rare to see one-club players. Here are five recent players who stuck with one club throughout their careers -- a tribute to the players who honor their badge amid the craziness of the transfer season.

The Real Madrid legend is the all-time leading goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League with 71 goals. Raul spent 16 years in the Spanish capital and set both the records for appearance and goal scored for Los Blancos. Although Raul left Madrid in 2010, there is no doubt that he is a one-club man.

4. Alessandro Del Piero

Unfortunately, Del Piero’s loyalty was not returned by Juventus as they refused to offer him a contract in 2012. Il Pinturicchio stayed loyal when Juve were demoted to Serie B due to the Calciopoli scandal. The Juventus legend captained his team back to the Serie A, and went on to set both appearance and goal records for his club. Del Piero is finishing his career in Australia, but will remain the symbol of loyalty for years to come.

The Liverpool and former England captain has spent 27 years at Liverpool, including his time spent in the youth squad. Gerrard had a number of opportunities to leave Liverpool for more competitive teams, but refused to leave. The Liverpool captain has made over 475 appearances for the Reds and is poised to earn his 500th cap this season.

2. Ryan Giggs

Giggs played for Manchester United at youth level and for the senior team. The Manchester United legend would play for the Red Devils until the age of 40. The Welshman made a total of 672 appearances for Manchester United and has won every title possible for the club. Giggs’ legacy at Old Trafford continues as he is now the assistant manager at the club.

1. Francesco Totti

Totti has played for AS Roma for the entirety of his career, winning one Serie A title and two Coppa Italia. Roma are a good team, but not a team that can be expected to compete for every title annually. In his 22 years of commitment to his boyhood club, Totti would go on to set the all-time appearance and second all-time goal scoring record for the Serie A. Totti has certainly deserved his title as Il Re de Roma (King of Rome).
