Toni Kroos Already Best Midfielder at Real Madrid
Real Madrid were already an amazing team with amazing players. Now that the club has added the services of German international Toni Kroos, they are instantly much better.
In yesterday’s UEFA Super Cup, Kroos successfully started and finished his first competitive match for Real Madrid in the team’s 2-0 victory over Sevilla. The 24-year-old won the ball with successful tackles, took a risk for the team when he had to, held possession calmly, took his time looking for the perfect or simplest of passes and spread the field like it was the easiest task to complete.
Of the three-man midfield, Kroos was the only one who remained for the entirety of the 90 minutes as both James Rodriguez and Luka Modric were replaced late on in the game. Kroos is already showing that he can be trusted by coach Carlo Ancelotti, because he is one of the most unselfish players on the roster. The man plays for the team instead of playing for his own glory. This is exactly what a club of this caliber needs.
This season will be a big one as Real Madrid have now won one of a possible six trophies. If they are to have a good chance at winning all of them, Kroos will have to be one of the main keys to their game plan. His presence on the field is enough for everyone around him to play in a calm and accurate manner.
La Liga commences on the weekend of Aug. 23 with Real Madrid kicking off against newly-promoted side Cordoba at home on Monday, Aug. 25. That is a game that the capital side should win with relative ease. Kroos should start that game and obviously boss the midfield yet again.
