Cesc Fabregas slotted straight back into life in the Premier League on Monday with Chelsea‘s comfortable win over Burnley. Chelsea ran out easy 3-1 winners and Fabregas rolled back his Premier League years and ran the show for Chelsea in the middle of the park.
With fan favourite and club legend Frank Lampard moving on, Fabregas has a big void to fill in midfield. If the Spaniard plays all season like he played at Turf Moor, then it justifies the decision of letting Frank move and bringing in the talented ex-Arsenal man.
Fabregas proved his quality in the Premier League before with his time at Arsenal. He then proved it some more in La Liga with giants Barcelona. Now playing with the likes of Nemanja Matic, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Diego Costa, to name a few, Chelsea will be strong favorites for the Premier League crown.
The 27-year-old magician provided an incredible pass to Andre Schurrle for The Blues’ second goal against Burnley. His passing is a big reason why Jose Mourinho bought him in. At his age now, he has matured into one of the best central midfielders in the world, which makes you wonder why Barcelona let him go in the first place.
Fabregas’ fellow countryman Costa looked lively too, and he also proved what he could do in La Liga and scored on his Chelsea debut. With these two together and including all the other array of talent at Mourinho’s disposal, Chelsea fans should be very excited about their prospects for the new season.
