The Premier League delivered an entertaining weekend of football. Many players performed superbly and came up big for their teams. Here are the players who made it into my team of the week.

The Hull City keeper had a splendid game. He saved a Charlie Austin penalty and kept a clean sheet, helping his team to a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers.

The Arsenal defender had a solid game at the back; the Gunners went down early in the first half against Crystal Palace, but he steered them back on course with an acrobatic header. Arsenal went on to win 2-1.

James Chester handed Hull City a victory by scoring the only goal of the match. The defender also played a huge part defensively and helped his team keep a clean sheet against Queens Park Rangers.

Apart from helping his team keep a clean sheet, the defender scored a lovely goal to give Tottenham a 1-0 injury time win over West Ham. He made a good run, and Harry Kane put him clear on goal with an incisive through-ball. Dier still had lots to do; he had to go around the oncoming keeper to get himself some space and then passed the ball into the empty net.

The Serbian defender did a solid job on the defensive end for Chelsea against Burnley; he remained active on both ends throughout the match. He also added his name to the score sheet by converting a Cesc Fabregas corner into a goal and secured a 3-1 win over the newcomers.

Sigurdsson was the all-important man for Swansea City. He threatened Manchester United all game and led his team to a 2-1 victory. He finished the game with a goal and an assist to his name.

The Spanish International had a hand in all three of Chelsea's goals against Burnley. He may have also delivered the assist of the season by playing an exquisite through-ball to Andre Schurlle. He also set up the goal for Branislav Ivanovic with a lovely ball from a corner kick.

Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for Liverpool in a game against Southampton with a neat finish. The young midfielder later put the ball on a platter for Daniel Sturridge to poke in the winning goal. The Reds won the game 2-1.

The West Brom forward scored two goals to earn his team a draw against Sunderland. He converted a first-half penalty and tucked in a neat volley during the second half to snatch a 2-1 lead. West Brom were unable to hold on though, as they conceded a late goal and ended the game with a 2-2 scoreline.

Diego Costa made his Premier League debut against Burnley. He was a threat throughout, and it only took him 17 minutes to score his first goal for Chelsea. He could have scored another, but he was brought down in the box by the keeper and unfairly booked by the referee.

The Argentine forward came off the bench against Newcastle and only played eight minutes; he was still able to score a timely goal to cap off a 2-0 win for Manchester City.
