New Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has been told he will be given the funds necessary to bolster his squad before the window slams shut on Monday. The 65-year-old, who took over at Palace on Wednesday, will be looking for some new additions in his quest for survival in the Barclays Premier League. After capturing the signature of Wilfried Zaha, here are five other players the Eagles should target.

Sebastien Bassong is a very strong and experienced center back. Since his arrival from France in 2005, he has gone on to play for Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and now Norwich City. The Cameroon international has stacked up nearly 150 appearances in English soccer and would be a very shrewd signing for Neil Warnock.

Crystal Palace are in desperate need for a holding and sweeping midfielder. After losing Kagisho Dikgacoi to Cardiff City in the summer they need someone to fill the hole. Dikgacoi and Cork have different styles, but they do the same kind of job. It will be hard to pry Cork away from St Mary's, but if Warnock could, it would be a great coup for the Eagles.

Gary Hooper has been banging in goals for his respective clubs for years now. After working his way up from English non-league soccer, he has featured at every league level. On his way to the top he has scored 186 goals in 427 games. The former Celtic striker would be sure to get vital goals for Palace and could be the difference between survival and relegation if they could secure his signature.

The ex-Sunderland and Stoke City man has started this season like a house on fire for Cardiff City. The Trinidad and Tobago international has scored three goals in three starts for the Bluebirds. The 29-year-old has vast experience in the Premier League, and he would offer the Eagles something new up top and chip in with a few goals too.

James McArthur has quickly turned himself into a very capable and experienced midfielder. He has been at the heart of the Wigan Athletic midfield now for a few years. McArthur has stacked up 125 games for Wigan and has 15 caps for Scotland. The 26-year-old certainly deserves another crack at the Premier League, and Palace could be a great place for him to do just that.
