In what was perhaps the most surprising move of the transfer window, Radamel Falcao will be playing on loan for Manchester United in the 2014 season. After bringing in defender Daley Blind earlier in the day, United shocked the world by bringing in Falcao. Many thought Falcao was going to Manchester United or Real Madrid, but the Red Devils are the ones laughing at the end of the day. Here are five reasons why Falcao will succeed in 2014.

5 Reasons Why Falcao Will Succeed With Manchester United

Under Louis Van Gaal, Manchester United has used a 3-1-4-2 system. In that system, Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie were the strikers. While the pair should be perhaps the most prolific striking duos in the world, Rooney and RVP haven't coexisted as well as planned. By bringing in Falcao, van Gaal will have to change his system and that will be for the better.

Manager van Gaal has tried to use Rooney as a striker in his four games as coach. While Rooney is one of the best goal scorers in the world, his best position is a CAM, which is also known as a central attacking midfielder. At this position, Rooney will be able to dictate the middle of the field, while also getting good shots on goal too. This will benefit Falcao as well.

Manchester United now has a plethora of players who can contribute in the attacking side of the field. Now that he is not in Monaco, Falcao can take breaks every couple of games. Danny Welbeck is usually the first reserve off the bench, but he will likely be playing in Arsenal this year. When Falcao needs a break, Manchester United can use young players like Will Keane and Tom Lawrence to gain experience.

While he has started very poorly as the manager of the Red Devils, Louis van Gaal is still one of the game's brightest minds. Think back a couple of years ago when van Gaal took over for Bayern Munich. In his few games for Bayern, van Gaal also started out slow off the gate. While it may sound like there are too many offensive players on this team, van Gaal will get creative and find a system for this offense.

Falcao will be joining perhaps the best offense in the Premier League when he starts wearing the shirt for Manchester United. Falcao will not only be joining Rooney and van Persie, but he will also be joining Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria. All five of those players are very good at what they do. The defense is very inexperienced, so this offense needs to score a ton of goals to be competitive in the EPL.
