Premier League: Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool Look Like A Complete Side
Brendan Rodgers looks to have completed his business for Liverpool and built another very capable squad. The Reds went to White Hart Lane on Sunday to face one of the early pacesetters Tottenham Hotspur in what promised to be a very tough test, but Rodgers’ side didn’t just win — they won the game in style and came away with three impressive and valuable points.
Rodgers’ side dominated the game and was worthy of their 3-0 victory. The signings of Mario Balotelli, Alberto Moreno, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Javier Manquillo and Lazar Markovic have made the Liverpool side look complete. Despite the loss of the influential striker Luis Suarez, Liverpool look considerably stronger this year, although Rodgers has said there may be one more in and a few out before the window slams shut.
After just overcoming Southampton on opening day, the Reds were comprehensively beaten at Manchester City. There were a few question marks raised about Liverpool’s title credentials, but they were put to bed in dramatic fashion on Sunday with their dominant performance against Tottenham.
After the international break, Rodgers’ side will host early high-flyers Aston Villa, but they will be looking to put them to the sword and continue from where they left off at the Lane.
