Cristiano Ronaldo secures his third hat-trick of the season against Athletic Bilbao. The Portuguese Peach notched up three goals as Real Madrid demolished the Basque side 5-0. The Blancos were in fine display, firing on all cylinders as Karim Benzema put away two additional goals.

The former Manchester United attacker has now scored 13 goals in six La Liga appearances and two goals in two UEFA Champions League appearances. Ronaldo has now tied Telmo Zarra and Alfredo Di Stefano with the most hat-tricks in La Liga with 22 total hat-tricks. CR7’s three against Athletic Bilbao improved his total goals in the Spanish Primera Division to 190 goals, putting the Portuguese legend at No. 10 on the all-time scoring list in Spain. Ronaldo is the only player on the list to have a goal-scoring ratio of over one a game.

The Real Madrid attacker was also generous with his service to his teammates against Bilbao. Ronaldo assisted on Benzema’s second and set up Gareth Bale on two occasions for the Welshman to go off target on a goal with only the keeper to beat.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid have hit a rich vein of form as of late. The Vikingos kept another clean sheet thanks to the heroics of Iker Casillas on the other end and with Benzema looking sharp, the reigning Champions League winners look to have put their early season woes behind them.

Real Madrid finally climbed up to fourth in La Liga with a four-point gap between league leader’s Barcelona. Ronaldo will be itching to go after the international break to make up those points in the El Classico on Oct. 25.
