Celebrations are an integral fabric of the modern game. It's hard to imagine soccer without the headline-grabbing routines that complement the wonder goals and cheeky tap-ins. Over time, they've evolved from the simple one-handed salute to the downright audacious and absurd. These are 10 of the wackiest celebrations to ever grace the football pitch. What's been your favorite down through the years?

10. FC Stjarnan Gone Fishing

Undoubtedly one of the weirdest and most wonderful football clips in recent memory, Icelandic side FC Stjarnan, who've since gone on to fame for actually taking themselves rather seriously and winning matches, grabbed a lot of people's attention when it first went viral. Connoisseurs of some wildly funny celebrations, if you've not seen them before have a gander at their back-catalog. It'll brighten your day.

9. Robbie Keane Goes Full Henry

Known more so for his world-famous cartwheel routine, LA Galaxy skipper Robbie Keane has become lazy in his older years. Well, sort of. Either that or he's planning his acting career for when he retires. Doing his best Thierry Henry impersonation, Keane turned the drama up to 11 with his recent goal-scoring antics with a perfectly-timed celebration for the cameras that continues to amaze.

8. Zlatan Before Zlatan Was Cool

The goal was great. The movement, the slaloming run and the precision to cap it all off was all pure genius -- classic Zlatan, if you will. But the celebration? What was our dear Zlatan Ibrahimovic thinking? And as the world wide-web's love-in with the great Swede continues, it's important to remember even the best of us can go a little... off, sometimes.

7. Bowling For Nomme Kalju

Making waves with a simple, yet fantastic, celebration, the Estonian football club took the internet by storm in early 2014 after this hilarious video became an overnight sensation. No doubt, FC Stjarnan would be proud. What a strike!

6. Kurzawa's Cocky Salute

In an U21 European Championship qualifying match against Sweden in mid-October, Layvin Kurzawa conjured up one of the most ill-advised celebrations in recent memory after scoring an important goal. The reason? It was overly-cocky, arrogant and just plain silly. A few minutes after he thought he had guaranteed the French safe passage to the tournament, Sweden scored again giving them the advantage, and some of the players returned the favor to Kurzawa. Justice was served.

5. Jonas Gutierrez, The Masked Goalscorer

Playing against Blackburn Rovers in an FA Cup clash, Jonas Gutierrez put the finishing touch to a fine, free-flowing move from Newcastle United. Eventually, he produced the Spiderman mask from his shorts and the crowd lapped it all up. You can almost hear the chants now..."Gutierrez, Gutierrez, does whatever a Gutierrez can." Or, maybe not. It's not quite catchy enough.

4. Cantona Le Roi

A true legend of the game, he transcended it long after he had retired, and he continues to have an impact on its history because of moments like this one. Showing dexterity and skill, the controversial, former Manchester United man not only showed his dynamism with the ball, but also with his nonchalant celebration. His thinking -- and shooting -- was outside the box, as always.

3. Colombia Dance While They Work

Their eye-catching salsa dance routine after Pablo Armero scored against Greece at the summer's World Cup might not have been their greatest sporting moment -- far from it -- but it was still a standout moment, nonetheless. Bringing something a little different to proceedings, it was no wonder they were in the mood for a bit of dancing after such a heroic team performance from all involved.

2. Asamoah Gyan's Two Left Feet

The less said about this questionable celebration the better. That said, if you ever feel insecure about your dance moves, just have a look at this and you'll soon find you won't feel so bad after all. He may well have scored, but it's unlikely the Ghanaian will be teaching dance classes any time soon.

1. Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Having been taunted directly to his face by one of the Andorran players for an uncharacteristic spot-kick miss, the Netherlands striker soon got his revenge after sticking home a typical Ruud Van Nistelrooy goal from six yards out. In this instance it was a case of fire with fire, but the Dutchman found himself in the referee's notebook for his actions nonetheless.
