Soccer’s greatest rivalry will take the stage on Saturday in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are considered two of the greatest clubs in the sport. The two Clasico rivals are flying high in all competition, making this game a must see for all global soccer fans. With Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi both on the cusp of breaking records, here are five predictions for El Clasico 2014.

5. Iker Casillas Will Be Magnificent

San Iker has begun this season in a tumultuous fashion. The Real Madrid captain started off shaking and booed by the madridistas, but has recently started to recover his form. If there ever was a player to truly understand the gravity of El Clasico it is Iker Casillas. Fans should expect a brilliant display from the Real Madrid youth product.

4. Barca Won't Stop Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is on a 12-game scoring streak heading into the Clasico. The Portuguese international has also scored in six consecutive games against Barcelona hitting the back of the net a total of seven times in that span. Cristiano is anything but shy in front of goal and the Real Madrid superstar should have no problem adding a goal or two to his name.

3. Lionel Messi Will Break Telmo Zarra’s Record

Both Messi and Ronaldo are on the cusp of breaking records. The Argentine striker is one goal shy of tying the La Liga all-time scoring record held by Telmo Zarra. Messi is a known goal scorer and fans should expect him to tie, and maybe break, the record that has stood for 59 years on one of the biggest stages in soccer.

2. Luis Suarez a flop

Luis Suarez is no doubt a great talent and Barcelona will be stronger with the Uruguayan in their ranks in the long run, but the former Liverpool man will be disappointing in this game. Even Neymar and Gareth Bale needed time to adjust to make a significant impact for their teams. Suarez will be excited to make his debut against Real Madrid, but he should focus on helping Barca not himself.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been excellent this season. The game is hard to call, but home field advantage should help the Blancos out. Real Madrid has also looked so sharp in front of goal that even Barca’s impressive number of clean-sheets do not look like much of an obstacle. 3-1 Real Madrid.
