After winning their nation’s fourth World Cup, Germany established themselves as the best national team in the world. Many expected their winning ways to continue as they entered the 2016 European Championship Qualifying. However, Germany have recently experienced a letdown that can be expected following such a large accomplishment. Unfortunately, the meaningful games for the Germans continue as they look to successfully qualify for the 2016 European Championship. Once a forgone conclusion, the Germans have struggled thus far in the qualifying process.

Following a successful 2014 World Cup, Germany lost a rematch of the semifinal against Argentina in an International Friendly in September. The European Qualifying process has also provided several stumbles for the German National Team. The campaign started well, with the Germans defeating Scotland 2-1. Since then, the Germans suffered a 2-0 loss to Poland and a 1-1 draw against Ireland. Currently sitting fourth in Group D, Germany hope to jump-start their campaign against Gibraltar. The Germans will look to send a message to the rest of Group D and dramatically improve their goal differential against the team at the bottom of Group D.

Right now, Germany are still a certainty to advance to the knockout round of the European Championship. In order to do so, they must start winning games in this group. Luckily for the Germans, they take on a Gibraltar side that is beaten before the game will kick off. In fact, the goalkeeper for the Gibraltar National Team has stated that he hopes to let in less than seven goals. Germany will be more than happy to exceed his expectations in this matchup. Expect a motivated German side to let out their frustrations on Gibraltar. Don’t be surprised if the Germans reach double digits in this contest.
