Despite a shaky defensive start to the season, Manchester United sit in third place in the Barclays Premier League table. Their recent run of success can be attributed in large part to David De Gea. The Spaniard has been in spectacular form for United, keeping six clean sheets through the first half of the season. If the rest of the team can step up defensively, Manchester United could make a run at the Premier League trophy this season.

4. Best Player- Sergio Aguero

Leading the Premier League in goal scoring, Sergio Aguero has only taken part in 15 games for Manchester City this season due to injury. However, Aguero has carried a Manchester City squad that struggled early in the campaign to second in the table. With Aguero healthy, Manchester City will be a major threat to Chelsea and their expected run to the Barclays Premier League title.

3. Best Manager- Sam Allardyce

After rumors of his firing last season, Sam Allardyce has West Ham sitting in sixth in the Barclays Premier League Table. Coming off a disappointing campaign, Allardyce has ignored the doubters and has West Ham sitting with a realistic chance of playing in the Europa League, possibly even the Champions League next season. A tough upcoming schedule will be a great test for Allardyce and his squad.

2. Biggest Surprise- Southampton FC

After a mass exodus of their biggest talents last season, Southampton FC were expected to struggle throughout the 2014-15 campaign. However, Southampton currently sit fourth in the Premier League Table. A spectacular start to the campaign saw Southampton thrash Sunderland 8-0. Southampton have proven they can win against teams in the bottom half but if they want to qualify for the Champions League, they must start beating teams near the top.

After last season, expectations were high on Mercyside for Everton FC. After narrowly missing the Champions League last season, Everton were hoping to improve on a fifth place finish last season. Instead, Everton currently sit 12th in the table and have lost three consecutive games. Everton will need to enjoy their time in the Europa League this season, because it is not likely that they will be in the competition next season.
