After recently taking over at West Bromwich Albion, Tony Pulis has done exactly what everybody expected and made the Baggies compact defensively and difficult to beat. However, Tottenham Hotspur will come into the game against West Brom in good form, and Pulis and his team will have a difficult job attempting to contain Mauricio Pochettino's men. Here are five bold predictions for this Week 23 matchup.

5. Minimal Impact From Christian Eriksen

Tony Pulis' teams are usually all about stopping the opposition from playing their game first and foremost, and a lot of Tottenham's best offense runs through their playmaker, Christian Eriksen. The Baggies will suffocate Eriksen when he is both in and out of possession, and Spurs will be forced to look elsewhere for their creativity with the Dane is having an unusually quiet and ineffective game.

Another trademark area of a Pulis team is their effectiveness, both offensively and defensively, on set-pieces. Pulis knows that if his team are to keep things tight and sit deep, then they must maximize the opportunities they do get to score. That's exactly what they do with corners and free kicks around the opposition's 18-yard box. Expect West Brom to take quite a few corners in the game, and they will score with one of them.

3. Great Performance and A Goal For Saido Berahino

Saido Berahino has been extensively linked with the Spurs in recent weeks and will continue to be right up until the transfer deadline on Feb 2. So it will be fitting in this game when Berahino decides to show Tottenham exactly how valuable he can be and the amount of damage he can do. The striker will be one of the stars of the game and chip in with a goal too.

2. 1-1 Draw

The game is destined to be tight, with West Brom attempting to stifle all of Tottenham's attacking intent, and then score themselves through counterattacks and set-pieces. The Spurs will find it difficult to break the Baggies down, and though Pulis has not yet got his offense as he would like it, his team will still emerge unbeaten.

When a team sets up as West Brom will against the Spurs, the course of the game is set from the opening minutes. But goals change everything and a Spurs goal in particular would force the home team to be a little more expansive and take more risks in order to try and avoid defeat. The Spurs will do that in the final 10 minutes, but West Brom will hit back to earn a draw.
