Gareth Bale has been jeered and whistled by Real Madrid fans on and off all season long. The most recent batch of criticism comes because of the perceived inability of Bale to pass the ball to teammates that are open for goal scoring opportunities.
Bale’s proposed selfishness is nothing short of fan frustration. These opportunities with better options were often created by the Welshman’s pace and ability to penetrate. Bale cannot be blamed for opting to take an opportunity he created that would have otherwise not existed.
Real Madrid fans must get behind the Welsh Wizard to get the best out of their man. Madridistas must not forget the key contributions Bale made to the success of the side last season. The former Tottenham winger was responsible for the winning goals in extra time for both the UEFA Champions League and the Copa Del Rey. The Welshman was able to lead a Cristiano Ronaldo-less Real Madrid side to a victory over bitter rival Barcelona in the latter competition.
Critics and media outlets have called for the transfer of the Real Madrid winger since the start of the summer and piled unneeded pressure on the man. Bale has performed well for Los Blancos this season, so fans must get behind him and trust him to bring home another title to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid will travel to the Vicente Calderon Stadium this weekend to face rivals Atletico Madrid in the Madrid Derby. Los Blancos have been left short with a number of key injuries and suspensions, but Bale will be there to try and get all three points against Atleti.
