USMNT Suffer Historic Loss vs. Costa Rica in Home World Cup Qualifier

By Anthony Blake

The United States Men’s National Team was on the wrong side of history on Friday night, as Costa Rica took down the squad 2-0 on U.S. soil for the first time since 1985.

In addition to snapping this 32-year run, the USMNT also dropped its second home World Cup qualifier on home turf for the first time since 1958.

Bruce Arena deserves some heat for his lineup choices on the evening, but the defeat itself falls squarely on the players.

This loss really tightens up the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying standings and makes for some nervous games ahead for the USMNT.
