Titans General Manager Tells Season Ticket Holders Not to Expect Randy Moss Back in 2011

On Friday, Tennessee Titans General Manager Mike Reinfeldt held a conference call with season ticket holders to discuss the team’s plans heading into the 2011 season. One of the main plans that is sure to catch headlines involves wide receiver Randy Moss–who fans shouldn’t expect back for a second season with the Titans.

According to John Glennon of The Tennessean, Reinfeldt told the season ticket holders that he doesn’t think the Titans will try to re-sign Moss and will focus on the team’s young receiving corps–especially when it comes to Kenny Britt. Here’s what Reinfeldt had to say courtesy of Glennon:

“I honestly don’t think we’ll try to re-sign him. We’ve got some young guys we like and I think at this point in his career he will probably go elsewhere.”

Lucky for Tennessee, the departure of Moss won’t have much of an impact in the passing game considering he only recorded six catches for 80 yards and zero touchdowns in the eight games played with the Titans. 2010 was arguably the worst season of Moss’ 13-year career in the NFL and many question if he’s still even capable of being that dangerous deep threat that caught 47 touchdowns from 2007-09 when he was with the New England Patriots.

Somebody will give Moss a chance to play in 2011–but the Titans aren’t one of those teams. Why would they give Moss another chance when they already wasted $3.88 million on him for those disappointing eight games last season?

They had the biggest deep ball threat in the history of the game and a future Hall of Famer for half a season and HARDLY EVER threw to him! Stupid!
