Jared Cook hosts Breast Cancer Basketball Fundraiser
The last two years, Jared Cook’s alma mater, North Gwinnet High School in Georgia has been host to a basketball tournament in Cook’s name.
He has named the tournament the Jared Cook Classic and it involves all high school basketball teams that surround the area of his hometown. The Classic brings many coaches, parents and athletes together for a good cause while promoting healthy competition all in the regular season schedules of the teams.
Cook’s mother is no a breast cancer survivor and he has choosing to put all proceeds of any silent auctions or entry fees towards the Susan G. Koman Foundation for Breast Cancer.
Jared also provided a grant to his alma mater along with NFL Charities. He is just one of many athletes that partake in numerous acts of kindness giving back to his home community and those who taught him the way. Without high school coaches, or teachers or parents, there is no foundation for a better life.
