Webster has been the new GM for the Tennessee Titans for about a week now and his agenda is already full. He has himself organized though as he sat down with Titans All-Access this week to talk about the next few months and the Titans ideas for a better season.

One of his first goals is to get everyone to sit down and evaluate players, whether they are current players or college prospects. He wants to make sure they grab hold of a solid team for this off-season.

Day-to-day operations duties are going to be new for him. Things like being in the equipment room or training room, though he feels a lot of his duties are very similar when making the switch to GM as Munchak from Offensive Coach to Head Coach.

And as always Webster has Mike Reinfeldt to refer to. They have a lot of the same philosophies as far as coaching goes so Webster said there won’t be much change.

Football challenges are still building, Webster understands that the Titans are in no way finished yet, but he released a statement saying “The challenge is to for us is to continue to win and build at the same time.” He is very comfortable with future with both Locker and Hasselbeck. He has no concerns.

The Senior Bowl is this weekend and Webster is excited because the team will be able to evaluate players they have been watching all year, and get a chance to see some play that they haven’t had the chance to see. It is a whole staff event and they all (Reinfeldt, Webster and Munchak) will go down with their scouts to make sure to get the best evaluations.

65 players declared to enter the draft this year. “We get three looks at every player prior to the combine,” stated Webster. This year Webster feels the draft shows strength in the defensive line. Which is good, most people would prefer the Titans to get a better defense.

Tennessee considers it a nice place to be in picking 20. “There’s a lot of pressure in the top ten, but the difference between the 10th guy and the 20th guy are very slim” Webster said.

When it comes to the tougher questions Webster was willing to give a little bit of information on free agency he understands it in three waves. The first wave is where the big money is. The middle of pack is a decent sized contract with decent money and the third wave is where you find your one year contract/not so big money.

March 13th is the free agency deadline. The Titans like that because they have more time to decide. Now they can concentrate on college things, then come back, have have NFL Draft meetings and talk about free agency even after the combine.

Webster closed by stating, “It’s going to be a lot of fun, its stuff I love to do and I’m excited.”
