2012 NFL Draft is quickly Approaching, Making Tough Decisions a Reality for Some
The 2012 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and soon the goals of many college athletes will be fulfilled and many NFL teams will succeed in filling holes in their rosters.
The draft will be held this year starting with the first round on Thursday, April 26th. Following on Friday the 27th will be the 2nd and 3rd rounds and finishing up on Saturday will be the 4th-7th rounds.
During the next couple of months you will see many people put in their predictions as far as who will be drafted and in what round. So why not join the fun and see just how close we can get to the reality order. During these next couple of months come back to the Tennessee Titans page of Rant sports to see a different draft choice up until the day of the draft. Let’s be cliché here and start today with the First round, overall draft pick.
Predicting and assuming that Stanford’s Quarterback Andrew Luck will be a Indianapolis Colt next year is on everyone’s list. The Colts are in a very tough situation as far as the Quarterback position goes. Peyton Manning is by far the guy who built the stadium in Indy and he has been the face of the franchise for many years now.
Clearly the Colts know now how it feels NOT to have a decent QB behind the line of scrimmage and I don’t think they ever want to be put in that position ever again. When you look at the last two years they have gone from 10-6 to 2-14.
Not knowing if Peyton will be returning has got to be hard for Colts fans. However Rex Ryan and the Jets have made it very clear that they would welcome him with open arms. (Sorry Sanchez)
Andrew Luck is the guy they are hoping will help bring the Colts back into that playoff ready mode. The guy has a completion rating of about 70% and passes about 8-9 yards per down. His senior season at Stanford he completed 288 passed for 3517 yards. He led Stanford to and 11-2 season in 2011. Granted, he is going to have to work a bit on his rushing game. 47 attempts at about 150 yards puts him at only about four yards per carry. Which isn’t BAD-I guess but let’s face it, it could be better.
It will be interesting to see how the quarterback situation pans out in Indy. The tables could turn on all of us; Peyton could stay in Indy, come back completely healthy and have the best season of his career. You just never know.
