Today, Toronto Maple Leafs star player Phil Kessel was voted the easiest to intimidate among all All-Star caliber players in the NHL. This poll is from Sports Illustrated Vault.

The Maple Leafs winger received 15% vote over all the other All-Star players.

Both of the Sedin twins finished second on this list with 8%. Which seems to be the reason why Bryon Bitz has now been playing with the Sedin twins.

To round out the top five we have Washington Capitals Alexander Semin, Patrick Kane from the Chicago Blackhawks and Ilya Kovalchuk of the New Jersey Devils.

Which All-Star-caliber player is the easiest to intimidate?

Phil Kessel, Maple Leafs RW 15%
The Sedin Twins, Canucks F’s 8%
Alexander Semin, Capitals LW 7%
Patrick Kane, Blackhawks C 3%
Ilya Kovalchuk, Devils LW 3%

Nevertheless, Kessel has one of the quickest shots in the game, he’s a pure scorer and a leader. Kessel is on pace for 80-85 points this season, which would break his previous regular season career high of 64, which was set last season.

These anonymous polls make me laugh. Asking a bunch of hockey players to name the “most overrated” or “easiest to intimidate” is like asking a bunch of school girls to vote for the most overrated girl in school. It BEGS for a petty, catty response, and the answer tells much more about the responder than it does about the object of their scorn.

Case in point: did you see/hear Hartnell’s exchange with Phaneuf at the all-star game? … Gee, I wonder who ol’ Scotty voted for as most overrated? … and I further wonder if he might have convinced his teammates to vote similarly, so they could all have a laugh over the poll results … Is that supposed to make it true, or does it merely mean that Hartnell hates Dion? … And if that’s what it means, then, um … so what?

    Essentially, such polls are meaningless.
