Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Joffrey Lupul Misses Morning Practice
Following a brutal 6-2 lost to the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. The Toronto Maple Leafs took the ice this morning, but without one of their star players. Joffrey Lupul missed Monday morning’s practice due to a suspected foot injury. After the loss in Vancouver, Lupul was seen with his foot heavily iced. Our hope is that Lupul’s issue with his foot is only day-to-day.
To replace Lupul on the first line, Colby Armstrong will have to cover for a player who has recorded a career best 61 points. Even though Armstrong is sitting with a lonely 1 assist in 16 games due to his injury plague season. To replace Armstrong on his original third line duties will be Joey Crabb who was a healthy scratch during Saturday’s match. Crabb has registered 8 goals and 8 assist this season.
Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs are enlightened and relieved by their up and coming four game home stand. Though the Maple Leafs will have to battle with four potentially playoff bound teams. On Tuesday the Maple Leafs Maple Leafs face the New Jersey Devils, than Thursday it is the San Jose Sharks. But the more serious match ups are against the Washington Capitals and the Florida Panthers, who are two teams who could threaten the Maple Leafs playoff chances.
