Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE.

After a loss to the league’s worst Bobcats, the Raptors got a much needed win tonight. Toronto took down the Detroit Pistons 103-93 and did enough on both ends of the court to take the victory.

Andrea Bargnani and Linas Kleiza were both inactive. There hasn’t been any reported progress on Bargnani, while Kleiza is day to day with a sore ankle.

Let’s get to the report card:

Offence- A

Positives

Very solid offence from a team that has lacked offensive spark all season. DeMar DeRozan lead the way with 23 points. Six Raptors ended with double figures and the offence was spread like butter.

Jose Calderon sparkled with 15 assists and just 1 turnover.

Negatives

Not much to complain about here.

Defence- B-

Positives

James Johnson, Amir Johnson, and Aaron Gray combined for 7 blocks, and the team was fairly solid defensively.

Negatives

The team started to collapse defensively in the fourth quarter. Fortunately, it was too little too late. Also, Greg Monroe was unstoppable with 30 points.

Rebounding- A

Positives

The Raptors man-handled the Pistons on the boards, out-rebounding them 47-37. Aaron Gray lead the way with 12 rebounds.

Negatives

Greg Monroe grabbed 14 off the glass, and the Raps couldn’t seem to box him out.

Overall, this was a great win heading into the all-star break. Hopefully Andrea Bargnani can return after the break and the Raptors can continue to set a positive culture offensively going forward.
