Edler’s shootout goal helps Canucks down Predators
The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Nashville Predators 4-3 in a shootout that needed 6 rounds to decide the results. Ryan Kesler, Daniel Sedin and Byron Bitz scored for the Canucks. Bitz also got an assist and Henrik Sedin tallied 2 assists today despite the face that he got injured by a Kevin Klein’s point shot, which struck his right ankle early in the 1st period. Sedin had to be helped to the dressing room. For the Predators, Colin Wilson, Sergei Kostitsyn and Mike Fisher scored. In the shootout, Alex Burrows and David Legwand scored in the 3rd round. Alex Edler would score in the 6th round and Colin Wilson’s miss would give the Canucks the victory. The Predators outshot the Canucks 40-31. The Predators are 14-3-0 since Dec.28, which is an NHL best. Dan Hamhuis played his 600th career NHL game while Kevin Bieksa played his 400th. The Canucks are 2-0 on their current 4 game road trip and they’ll play the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.
