Sedin’s help Canucks tame Wild
The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-2. Both Sedins, Maxim Lapierre, Manny Malhotra and Ryan Kesler scored for the Canucks while Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi scored for the Wild, Setoguchi and Henrik Sedin also got an assist. Canucks captain Henrik Sedin was a game-time decision for tonight’s game due to a right ankle injury, but he would end up playing. Speaking of captain, Wild’s captain Mikko Koivu returned to the lineup after missing 8 games because of an injured left shoulder. Dany Heatley scored 13 seconds into the game and with that goal, it’s the fastest goal to start a game in Wild team history. The Wild outshot the Canucks 24-19. Lapierre, Kevin Bieksa, Dan Hamhuis and Cal Clutterbuck all got game misconduct with less than a minute to play. For the Canucks, they’re now 3-0 on the road trip and they will wrap up their 4 game road trip in Calgary on Saturday.
