Canucks score 3 to get by Avs

The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 at Rogers Arena on Wednesday. David Booth, Jannik Hansen and Alex Burrows scored for the Canucks while Erik Johnson scored for the Avs. Both teams had 30 shots each. J.S. Giguere left the game with 3:54 remaining in the 1st period because of a groin injury. Semyon Varlamov would replace Giguere in the game. The Avs also lost winger T.J. Galiardi to injury midway through the period. The Canucks continue to dominate the Avs, going 13-0-2 in the last 15 games of these 2 teams last meeting. Matt Duchene practiced with the Avs today, but didn’t play in tonight’s game. For the Canucks, they will host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
