2012 NBA Playoffs and Trending Topics – 05/11/2012
The NBA Playoffs are starting to catch my attention. Philadelphia took a game from Boston Monday night, that series is tied 1-1 and heading back to Philly. It feels like that series is going 7.
A lot of controversy late because the ref called an offense foul on Kevin Garnett for a moving screen on Andre Iguodala with 10 seconds left. Despite it being in ‘winning time’, to me a foul is a foul is a foul… and that was the right call.
Oklahoma City handed it to the Lakers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semis. The Thunder were up by 30 points after the 3rd quarter, and they’ve clearly set the tone for the series. It will be interesting to see how the Lakers will respond in game 2.
Like so many of you who voted, I too don’t think Chris Bosh’s injury will have any affect on the Miami Heat’s chances of getting past the Indiana Pacers. However, you’re crazy if you think they’ll win a NBA Title this year without him.
Around the diamond in the MLB, big news coming out of LA. The Dodgers had to put their super-stat Matt Kemp on the disable-list with a strained hamstring that had hampered the slugger for the last week.

Other news and notes: At 19 years of age, Washington Nationals Bryce Harper hit his 1st Major League home-run becoming the youngest to homer since Adrian Beltre in 1998. Also, Placido Polanco cracked his 2,000th career hit over the fence in a Phillies 5-1 defeat of Houston.
