On Wednesday night, the Lakers blow the lead late in the 4th, the Celtics blow out the 76ers,and the New Jersey Devils draw even with the Rangers.

Kobe and L.A. played 46 minutes of solid, Laker basketball but they blew a seven point lead with two minutes to play.

The Thunder closed the game on a nine to nothing run to take game two 77-75. OKC goes up 2-0 as the series now shifts to Staples.

In the Eastern conference… the Boston Celtics take command of their series winning easily 107-91.

Garnett dominated… finishing with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Rondo was brilliant dishing out 14 assists — leading the celtics to a 2-1 series advantage.

Larry Bird wins NBA Executive of the Year honors becoming the first person to win that award… plus the MVP and Coach of the Year honors.

The Rangers Yu Darvish picks up his 6th victory of the season. Darvish’s line: 7 K’s over 7-2/3 IP. Rangers win 4-1 over Oakland.

Blue Jay’s Brett Lawrie plans on appealing his four-game suspension for his helmet-tossing tantrum. Lawrie called the helmet hitting umpire Bill Miller an “unlucky hop”. Lawrie will be in the line up unitl the hearing takes place which might not be until next week.

NFL Notes: Drew Brees calls the on-going negotiations for a long-term contract with the Saints ‘extremely frustrating’. Currently the Saints have the franchise tag placed on Brees. The sides have until July 16th to hammer out an extension.

Thursday Night Predictions: I’ll take the Heat to rebound and defeat the Pacers, San Antonio goes up 2-0 on the CLippers and the 8th seeded Kings go up 3-0 on Coyotes.
