A big congratulations are in order for Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver Donald Driver after he became the third NFL athlete to be crowned champion for “Dancing With the Stars” with partner Peta Murgatroyd for Season 14.
Driver joins Emmit Smith along with Hines Ward as previous NFL stars to take home the honor on ABC’s hit show–which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Athletes like Driver have the upper advantage considering they’re used to going through a similar work ethic to learn dance routines from preparing for the regular season, not to mention they’re more coordinated than some of the other stars on the show.
Driver compared being crowned champion on “Dancing With the Stars” to the same feeling he felt when the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2010.
When asked if it compares Driver said, “I think it does. It’s truly something special. I reached the greatest milestone in my career, and that was winning the Super Bowl. I just made my partner reach her greatest milestone, and now she’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ champion.”
That is certainly questionable. I understand the point Driver is making here, but winning this dance competition does not compare to winning a Super Bowl. Either way, congratulations to Donald Driver… he was certainly excited.
