The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 107-99 in Game 6 to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Kevin Durant was outstanding yet again. The three-time scoring champion played every second in Game 6 and closed out the Spurs with 34 points and 14 rebounds.
Needless to say, Tim Duncan and company weren’t happy after being eliminated. Duncan voiced his displeasure with the officiating post-game.
The Thunders are this team since 1998 to represnet the Western Conference, not named the Mavericks, Lakers, or Spurs. The three teams they defeated to reach the 2012 NBA Finals. With that said, I think we we’re all witnesses of the changing of the guard in the Western Conference. The young-guns from OKC have proven their time is now, and they’ll be my favorite to win the Finals regardless of their opponent.
Game 1 of the Finals will be on Tuesday night in Oklahoma City. The Thunder have yet to lose there so far in the playoffs. They defeated the Boston Celtics twice in the regular season, and split two games with the Miami Heat.
