Our 2012 NBA mock draft is chugging along and we are up to the third pick. With this pick, the Washington Wizards should select Bradley Beal, a shooting guard out of Florida. Beal might be one of the best shooters in the draft and fills a need for the Wizards.
With the Wizards acquiring Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza, they have a pretty decent starting lineup. By decent, I mean that it could possibly contend for a playoff spot. However, they still need a shooting guard. Enter Brad Beal. He has shot up draft boards and there is no way that he should fall pass Washington.
John Wall desperately needs a reliable shooter to pass to and Beal could be just that. He would allow the team to stretch the floor, which gives Wall more room to operate. As long the Charlotte Bobcats do not do anything weird in front of them, Beal should be handed to Washington on a sliver platter.
Beal is another guy that is probably not going to ever be an All-Star, but I do not feel that there are a lot of those guys in this draft. However, he fills a big need on a team that needs good shooting. If you put Beal on a playoff team, he could easily be the X-factor that gives his team a boost to a title. For now, he will do his job with the Wiz.
