Fantasy Football 2012 Rankings: Houston Texans Running Back Arian Foster
The Houston Texans should consider themselves lucky as Arian Foster has emerged into one of the best running backs in the NFL and will be the top pick in most leagues for the fantasy football 2012 season.
Foster proved in 2011 that he was anything but a one-year wonder after recording 1,841 yards from the line of scrimmage to go along with 19 touchdowns. What’s even more impressive–Foster recorded those numbers after playing in just 13 games during the regular season.
Foster’s ability to be just as much of a threat through the air as on the ground makes him one of the most popular picks for fantasy football considering there were three games when he recorded over 100 receiving yards. Even during the 2012 playoffs, Foster seemed unstoppable at times after combining for 285 rushing yards and three touchdowns in two games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.
So what should fantasy owners expect from Foster in 2012? Well, as long as he remains healthy, there’s no reason why Foster shouldn’t post big numbers once again this season–especially since he’s recorded 4,061 yards from the line of scrimmage and 30 touchdowns over the last two seasons alone.
There was a reason why the Texans emerged as one of the top teams in the AFC during the 2011 season and a weapon like Foster gives them the opportunity to do so once again in 2012. Each year, there always seems to be that one player that sticks out the most when it comes to having the No. 1 pick in fantasy football drafts and this year–that player is certainly Foster.
