Fantasy Football 2012 Rankings: Green Bay Packers Tight End Jermichael Finley

The Green Bay Packers were one of the best teams during the regular season in 2011 thanks to a strong passing game led by Aaron Rodgers and company. Not only do the Packers have one of the top wide receiver duos in the NFL in Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson, but they have one of the league’s top rising pass-catching tight ends for the fantasy football 2012 season–Jermichael Finley.

Coming into the 2011 season, Finley believed he had what it takes to be the best tight end in the NFL and even though that may not have been the case–he still put up impressive numbers. Finley set career highs by catching 55 passes for 767 yards to go along with eight touchdowns–playing a key part in helping the team finish 15-1 during the regular season.

Obviously, Finley may not be up there with some of the other tight ends on this list like Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he worked his way up close to their level in 2012. Finley seemed highly confident that he was capable of being the league’s top tight end last season and there’s no question he’ll be willing to do whatever it takes to try and make that happen.

Plus, Finley of all players could benefit the most on Green Bay with all of the attention defenders are going to be placing on Jennings and Nelson. As the No. 7 ranked tight end on this list, expect Finley to fall in the mid rounds for most fantasy leagues.
