NFL Preview 2012–Looking at the NFC West

With the 2012 NFL season right around the corner, Rant Sports decided to breakdown the NFC North in their NFL preview 2012.

Which player will be the MVP of the regular season in 2012?

Aldon Smith displayed one of the most impressive rookie seasons in 2011 after recording 14 sacks during his first season with the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners were one of the biggest surprises last season with a steller defense and it will be fun to see what Smith does for an encore during his sophomore season with the team.

Which rookie will have the biggest impact on the division this season?

Not many players have the opportunity to play alongside one of the best wide receivers in football like Michael Floyd of the Arizona Cardinals will during his rookie season. With most defenders focusing their attention on Larry Fitzgerald, Floyd should be able to take advantage on offense and see more passes thrown his way–whether it’s from John Skelton or Kevin Kolb.

What player under the radar in 2011, will break out in 2012?

It’s hard to believe, but Randy Moss looks to bounce back after a disastrous 2010 season. He may have been away from the NFL for a year, but Moss has been working hard this offseason to return to the dominant level from a few years ago.

San Francisco ran away with the division in 2011… will any team compete with the Niners chance of going back to back as NFC West Champions?

The Seattle Seahawks showed plenty of potential with their young defense in 2011 and with new weapons on offense–expect this team to compete in the NFC West.
