Rant and Rise: NHL Preseason Canceled Through September 30, Vince Young’s Spending Habits, Los Angeles Dodgers

NHL Cancels Preseason Games Through September 30

Bad news for hockey fans as the NHL Lockout took another turn for the worst on Tuesday when the league canceled preseason games through September 30. The NHL and NHLPA have struggled to come to an agreement during labor talks after the Collective Bargaining Agreement expired last Saturday at midnight.

The regular season is scheduled to begin on October 11, but if the last few weeks are any indication of what to expect–it doesn’t look like the season will be starting then.

Vince Young Spent Thousands On Restaurants and Flights

So how did a player like Young blow through $26 million over a six-year span? Well, after Young made headlines for being nearly broke, stories are beginning to come out about what he’s spent his money on over the last six years.

Apparently, Young was known for spending thousands of dollars at popular restaurants in the Nashville area such as T.G.I. Friday’s and the Cheesecake Factory–with the checks being at least $4,000 each time. On top of the dining, there was one individual who claimed Young once bought out an entire Southwest flight so he and his friends could have the plane to themselves.

Los Angeles Dodgers Hold Off Washington Nationals

Every win over the next week or so is extremely important for the Dodgers as they trail the St. Louis Cardinals by two games for the Wild Card spot in the National League. On Wednesday, Los Angeles appeared to be on their way to smooth win with a 6-0 lead until Washington scored six runs in the eighth to tie it up.

Luckily, Matt Kemp came through for the Dodgers in the ninth with the go-ahead home run–which ended up being the difference maker for the win.
