Rant-O-Matic: Previewing Michigan vs. Notre Dame, Clemson vs. Florida State

Here’s a look at the latest edition of Rant-O-Matic for September 21, 2012:

Michigan Wolverines vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Over the first three weeks of the season, Notre Dame has been one of the biggest surprises and their defense has been nothing short of phenomenal–allowing their opponents to score just 30 points so far this season. After pulling off the upset against the Michigan State Spartans in Week 1, the Fighting Irish look too pull off another win against a ranked team as they face off against a high-powered Wolverines’ offense.

Michigan stunned Notre Dame during last year’s meeting when they scored 28 points in the fourth quarter thanks to an impressive performance by Denard Robinson–so it should be interesting to see how their defense handles the Heisman Candidate this time around.

Clemson Tigers vs. Florida State Seminoles

ACC fans have plenty to be excited in this matchup as two undefeated teams square off in a game that could play a huge factor later in the year when it comes to which team will come out on top of the conference.

Florida State’s defense has been nearly impossible to play against this year as their opponents are averaging less than 70 yards through the air along with just 34 yards on the ground. On top of this, the Seminoles have recorded back-to-back shutouts and have only given up three points the entire season.

That should change on Saturday against a high-powered offense as Tajh Boyd hopes to lead the Tigers to a 4-0 record with the upset.
