Here’s the latest edition of Rant-O-Matic for October 19, 2012:
In a matchup that will play a huge factor in the SEC standings, the Gators look to remain undefeated while the Gamecocks look to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing loss to the LSU Tigers.
South Carolina and Florida contain two of the top defenses in the country and believe or not–both teams are allowing their opponents to average just 12.3 points per game. The Gators best chance of winning on Saturday may depend on what type of performance they receive from Jeff Driskel–who is coming off a phenomenal win against the Vanderbilt Commodores last weekend in which he recorded 177 rushing yards to go along with three touchdowns.
College football fans could not have asked for a better matchup on Saturday as Heisman Candidates Collin Klein and Geno Smith will square off against one another in this key Big 12 showdown. While the Wildcats look to remain undefeated, the Mountaineers hope to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders in which Smith completed just 29 of 55 passes for 275 yards and one touchdown.
Lucky for Klein and the Wildcats, West Virginia’s defense is allowing 37.3 points per game so far this season–which means they could be in for a high-scoring game. Kansas State may have the advantage, but that doesn’t mean Smith and West Virginia won’t put up a fight to avoid a two-game losing skid.
