Here’s a look at the top three players for 2012 Fantasy Football Busts Week 7:
3. Arizona Cardinals Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald
After a shaky start to the regular season, Fitzgerald has come up big for the Cardinals over the last four weeks with 31 catches. However, Fitzgerald has a difficult matchup on Sunday against one of the rising defenses in the league in the Minnesota Vikings.
On top of going against one of the league’s top defenses–Fitzgerald has to make the adjustment to playing with John Skelton again after Kevin Kolb was injured last weekend against the Buffalo Bills.
2. Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton
In 2011, Newton displayed one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history–which set the expectations high for this season. Unfortunately, Newton has failed to live up to expectations as he’s recorded just seven total touchdowns over the first five games.
On Sunday, Newton will be going against a Dallas Cowboys‘ defense that ranks second in the league when it comes to yards allowed per game. With this in mind, Newton could be for another rough outing on Sunday–so it may be wise to stay away from him in Week 8.
1. Detroit Lions Running Back Mikel Leshoure
One of the biggest surprises at running back this season has been Leshoure and he’s coming off an impressive performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in which he recorded 70 rushing yards on 15 carries. Leshoure has become a favorite sleeper in fantasy leagues, but he faces a tough matchup on Monday night against a Chicago Bears team that ranks No. 1 when it comes to stopping the run.
