2012 NFL Power Rankings Week 8: Looking at the Top Five Teams
Here’s a look at the top five teams for 2012 NFL Power Rankings Week 8:
In a defensive battle with the Seattle Seahawks, the 49ers came out on top to improve to 5-2 on the season. The defense is still one of the best in the league, but the offense needs to work on consistency if this team has any chance of competing in the NFC–especially Alex Smith.
Once again, the defense put on a solid performance to prove they’re one of the best in the league after Monday’s win over the Detroit Lions. Give credit to Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall as this duo continues to build up their chemistry on offense.
How did this team respond to a blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers? Well, they bounced back with a 30-point win over the Baltimore Ravens–making a statement that they should be the team to beat in the AFC.
For a team that usually waits until the end of the year to get hot, the Giants have certainly looked impressive over the last few weeks. Great teams find ways to win games no matter what it takes and Sunday’s win against the Washington Redskins was huge when it comes to the NFC East standings.
After a bye week, the Falcons should be well rested for their Week 8 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Atlanta is the only remaining unbeaten team in the league and has one of the best offenses on paper consisting of Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Roddy White.
Until they lose–there’s no reason why they shouldn’t remain on the top spot.
