Top Three Performances From 2012 NFL Season Week 7

Here’s a look at the top three performances from Week 7 of the 2012 NFL season.

3. Josh Freeman and Vincent Jackson

Despite impressive performances from Freeman and Jackson, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell short against the New Orleans Saints 35-28 on Sunday for their fourth loss of the season. While Freeman completed 24 of 42 passes for 420 yards and three touchdowns, Jackson caught seven of those passes for 216 yards and one touchdown.

If Freeman and Jackson can figure out a way to put up these type of numbers on a weekly basis, there’s no reason why the Buccaneers can’t bounce back from their 2-4 start and make a run at the playoffs.

2. Drew Brees

Each week, Brees always has the potential to put up big numbers considering he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and the Saints rank near the bottom of the league when it comes to rushing yards. Brees threw four touchdown passes in the first half against the Buccaneers and finished the game with 377 passing yards on 27 of 37 completions.

After an 0-4 start, the Saints have won two-straight games after defeating the Buccaneers and San Diego Chargers. Who knows–maybe this is a sign that things are finally going to turn around in New Orleans.

1. Chris Johnson

The Tennessee Titans have been waiting all season for Johnson to return to the level of the running back that became the sixth player in NFL history to cross the 2,000-yard rushing mark a few years ago. After Sunday’s performance against the Buffalo Bills, it appears Johnson may finally be ready to return to his dominant level after rushing for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
