2012 Fantasy Football Busts Week 8: Looking at the Top Three Players
Here’s a look at the top three players for 2012 Fantasy Football Busts Week 8:
3. Detroit Lions Running Back Mikel Leshoure
There’s been high expectations for Leshoure over the last couple of weeks and even though he rushed for 63 yards on 12 attempts against the Chicago Bears in Week 7–it’s safe to say Leshoure has been nothing but a disappointment so far this season. With a matchup against a Seattle Seahawks team that allows just 85 rushing yards per game so far this season, expectations aren’t high for Leshoure once again in Week 8–so avoid him at all costs.
2. Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton
The argument can be made that Newton has been one of the biggest disappointments from a fantasy perspective this season after the type of rookie year he had in 2011. Not only has Newton only thrown for 300+ yards once, but he’s gone two games without a touchdown pass.
For a quarterback known to do most of his work on the ground–Newton may have his toughest matchup of the season going against the Bears considering they sit at the top of the standings when it comes to rushing yards allowed per game (71).
1. Detroit Lions Quarterback Matthew Stafford
Newton may be having a disappointing season, but it’s safe to say no quarterback takes the cake more than Stafford so far this season considering he was a first or second round pick in most leagues. After throwing for 5,038 yards and 41 touchdowns, it’s hard to believe that Stafford has yet to throw for multiple touchdowns in a game and with a tough matchup against the Seahawks–that streak could continue on Sunday.
