2012 Fantasy Football Busts Week 9: Looking at the Top Three Players

Here’s a look at the top three players for 2012 Fantasy Football Busts Week 9:

3. Minnesota Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson

One of the biggest surprises of the 2012 season has been the progress of Peterson–who tore his ACL during Week 16 last season. Peterson currently leads the league with 775 rushing yards heading into Week 9, but he faces a tough task on Sunday against a Seattle Seahawks team that ranks fifth when it comes to stopping the run.

The Vikings will certainly try to use Peterson as much as possible on offense, but whether or not he records big numbers is a different story.

2. New York Giants Running Back Ahmad Bradshaw

Unfortunately for the Giants, Bradshaw has been bothered by a foot injury over the last few weeks that has prevented him from living up to his full potential. Bradshaw has only received 34 carries over the last two weeks for 121 yards and faces one of the league’s top defenses on Sunday in the Pittsburgh Steelers.

When taking all of this into consideration–it would be wise to avoid Bradshaw at all costs in Week 9.

1. Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Torrey Smith

Expectations were high for Smith heading into his sophomore season with the Ravens after proving to be one of the fastest wide receivers in the league during his rookie season in 2011, but the argument can be made he’s yet to live up to the hype so far this season. Smith only has one 100-yard game so far this season and he’s only averaging three catches and 43 yards on the road so far this season.
