2012 Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 9: Looking at the Top Three Players

Here’s a look at the top three players for 2012 Fantasy Football Sleepers Week 9:

3. Oakland Raiders Wide Receiver Darrius Heyward-Bay

Despite recording just one catch for 32 yards–which happened to be a touchdown–against the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend, Heyward-Bay has a favorable matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9. The Bucs rank 31st when it comes to stopping the pass and have allowed numerous wide receivers to record big games throughout the first half of the season.

Heyward-Bay looks like he’s finally getting into the groove again in the passing game–so keep an eye on him for Week 9.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars Wide Receiver Cecil Shorts

For a team that’s limited when it comes to weapons on offense, Shorts has become quite the target for the Jaguars in the passing game over the last couple of weeks. Not only is Shorts coming off a performance against the Green Bay Packers in which he caught eight passes for 116 yards, but he’s recorded 12 catches over the last two games.

The Detroit Lions have struggled at times this season when it comes to stopping the pass and Shorts should be heavily targeted once again on Sunday.

1. Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Titus Young

Last weekend against the Seattle Seahawks, Young arguably had the best game of his career after catching 9 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. With the Jaguars having the league’s 23rd ranked passing game, don’t be surprised if Matthew Stafford heavily targets Young once again on Sunday–especially with all of the struggles surrounding Calvin Johnson.
