Rant-O-Matic: Previewing Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors and Oklahoma City Thunder

Here’s the latest edition of Rant-O-Matic for November 6, 2012:

Orlando Magic vs. Chicago Bulls

Despite losing Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers during the offseason, the Magic have been to an impressive 2-0 start this season thanks to Glen Davis and J.J. Reddick. While Davis is averaging 25.5 points per game to go along with nine rebounds, Reddick has stepped it up contributing 22.5 points per game and six assists.

As for the Bulls, they still have plenty of work to do, but should be satisfied with their 2-1 start considering Derrick Rose is still recovering from the torn ACL suffered during last year’s playoffs. There’s still plenty of work to do, but Chicago still has enough weapons to be contend in the Eastern Conference and it should be interesting to see how Tuesday’s game against Orlando turns out.

Toronto Raptors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Even though both teams are off to a 1-2 start, it’s safe to say the Thunder are off to a more disappointing start considering they are the defending Western Conference Champions. Oklahoma City has received a bit of criticism since dealing James Harden to the Houston Rockets before the start of the regular season.

There’s no question the Thunder have one of the most talented teams in the league thanks to Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, but Harden was an important factor to this team’s success last season. Durant may be averaging over 22 points and 14 rebounds, but it’s already shown how much this team could use Harden.
