Rant-O-Matic: Previewing Indianpolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida State Seminoles vs. Virginia Tech Hokies
Here’s the latest edition of Rant-O-Matic for November 8, 2012:
Despite the Jaguars 22-17 victory earlier in the year, there’s no question the Colts should be considered the favorite heading into Thursday’s game against their AFC South rivals. Indianapolis has emerged as one of the biggest surprises in the league over the last couple of weeks and with a 5-3 record–they’re all of a sudden considered a playoff contender.
As for Jacksonville, their win against Indianapolis has been their only win of the 2012 season. Take this into consideration with the fact they’re still adjusting to life without Maurice Jones-Drew–Thursday’s game against the Colts certainly won’t be an easy one.
Plus, the fact that Jacksonville has only scored 34 points in four games at home shows what type of season it’s been.
At the beginning of the season, this matchup seemed to have plenty of potential as the Seminoles and Hokies appeared to be two of the top teams in the ACC. While Florida State is having a phenomenal season, it’s Virginia Tech that is turning into one of the biggest disappointments.
After a 3-1 start, the Hokies have lost four of their last five games and have scored just 29 points over their last two games. Thursday’s game against Florida State certainly won’t be easy as the Seminoles rank in the top 10 for both offense and defense–so the Hokies could be on their way to losing five of their last six games.
