NFL Playoff Picture: If Season Ended Today, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos Would Square Off

It’s been a crazy year in the NFL so far and with less than two months left in the regular season–we’re beginning to see what the NFL playoff picture could possibly look like.

From a fan perspective, one of the dream match-ups in January would be the Indianapolis Colts traveling to Colorado for a match-up against the Denver Broncos as Andrew Luck would square off against Peyton Manning. While there was plenty of hype surrounding Luck when the Colts selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in April after moving on from Manning during the off-season, but nobody could have predicted them to look this impressive in 2012.

This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Indianapolis after recording just two wins all of last season, but Luck has played a big role in helping this team exceed all expectations with a 6-3 start as they prepare for a key Week 11 match-up against the New England Patriots. And if the Colts continue to play at this level for the remainder of the season–what better playoff match-up would there be than a game featuring Manning taking on the rookie quarterback who replaced him in Indianapolis?

As for the NFC, Monday night’s match-up between the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers could play a big role in the playoff standings. If the season were to end today, the Bears would be the No. 2 seed while the 49ers would be the No. 3 seed–which means both teams will be doing whatever it takes to make sure they come out on top Monday night.
