Ranter X: Dan Marino Paid Millions to Keep Love Child a Secret
The last thing former Miami Dolphins quarterback and Hall of Famer Dan Marino needed to deal with this week when Super Bowl XLVII between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens is a secret come up from us past that could ruin his past–which is exactly what happened after news broke about his “love child” that was born in 2005.
Apparently, Marino had an affair with a CBS Production Assistant, Donna Savettere back in 2005 and has been paid her millions of dollars to keep it a secret. It would be one thing if this managed to stay a secret, but now that the cat is out of the bag–Marino just wasted millions of dollars trying to cover up this mistake from his past and now has to deal with the consequences of restoring his image.
What’s even more ironic about this situation is Marino celebrated his 28th anniversary the day before the story was officially released–so that had to have been an ultimate slap to the face for the current CBS analyst. If Marino thought this week of work was going to be intense with the Super Bowl just a few days away, imagine the type of pressure he’s feeling now that he has to deal with this mess on top of it.
On the bright side–at least Brett Favre can relate to Marino now that the two quarterbacks have more in common than just playing football. And to think Marino was always considered one of the “good guys” of the league–it’s a shame to see this story go down the way it is.
